AMSWAG Statement: Demand Freedom, Dignity, and Safety for Trans Women in Immigration Detention

Racist migration policies, such as Operation Inglenook, target Asian migrant women, leading to devastating consequences.

After being profiled by Border Force upon her arrival in Australia, she has endured severe human rights violations that put her safety and dignity at risk.

Government data reveals a clear bias in profiling young Asian women, which contradicts recent efforts to end the targeting of migrant sex workers.

We demand:
