Vixen is dedicated to advocating for the rights, safety, and well-being of sex workers in Victoria. As a peer-only organisation, our advocacy is grounded in the lived experiences of sex workers and driven by the needs of our community.
Our Advocacy
Policy & Law Reform
We advocate to improve laws and policies affecting sex workers, pushing for full decriminalisation, anti-discrimination protections, and expanded workplace rights. We engage with policymakers, legal bodies, and government agencies to ensure sex workers' voices are at the centre of decisions that impact our lives.
Community-Led Campaigns
Through public education, media engagement, and grassroots organising, we challenge stigma and misinformation about sex work. We amplify sex workers’ voices, highlight community concerns, and advocate for a future where our rights are fully recognised.
Marginalised Sex Workers
We prioritise advocacy for sex workers who face intersecting barriers, including Asian-migrant workers, trans and gender-diverse workers, street-based workers, and sex workers who use drugs. We push for policies and services that address their specific needs and actively work against discrimination and systemic violence.
Expanding Community Resources
Sex workers have always shared information, knowledge, skills, and techniques—drawing from our own experiences and learning from one another. At Vixen, we see ourselves as a conduit for this collective wisdom, supporting it to continue circulating within our community. We aim to support this circulation through mutual aid, workshops and skillshares, resource development and volunteer opportunties. We also advocate for funding to grow projects supporting sex workers experiencing family and domestic violence, criminalisation, and housing insecurity.
